My Trip To Hot Springs
From November 14-19, I attended our annual regional conference. This year it was in Hot Springs, AR. We stayed at the Arlington Hotel. I heard the phrase; "Its not old, its historic." I bet I heard that at least 10 times a day. The Arlington is a very historic hotel and I had no complaints of my stay there. But I know many people that did have complaints. But I think it was a great location for our conference this year. The Arlington is the hotel where Al Capone would hide out at during his mafia days. Hot Springs is known for Oak Lawn Racetrack (Smarty Jones raced and won there), beautiful scenery, the many bath houses, and of course its natural hot springs.
I didn't get a real chance to do much sightseeing at this conference because I had to "work" a lot of the conference. Since I am currently the state president of our association, I had to be in a lot of places and do a lot of business stuff while I was at the conference. So most of the pictures you see above are from my last day at the conference. For most part, it was a very good conference and I look forward to my state conference in March.
Hot Springs would be a great place to get away. It was about a 5 hour drive for us (John and I) from Fort Worth to Hot Springs. I will say this, there are a lot of great restaurants in Hot Springs. Everything from a good hamburger to authentic Italian to some Nuevo Latino food. I had an opportunity to eat at a restaurant called "Rolando's" and it was excellent. They specialize in Ecquadorian, Cuban, and Latino type dishes. I had heard of the restaurant before as they have a location in Fort Smith and now in Hot Springs. I didn't take any pics of the food (sorry Christina) because of the company I was with at this lunch but I will tell you this, it was great. If you want to check out their website, go here http://www.rolandosrestaurante.com/index.htm
